My Story

Jice Johnson is Changing The Narrative to close the racial wealth gap.

I’m Jice, US Army Vet, mother of three, and business woman based out of Denver, Colorado. For the last fifteen years, I have dedicated my life toward to creating a prosperous Black community despite the systems built to work against us. For us, I’ve not only learned about business, economic history, and culture, but how to incorporate those pieces together in a way that aligns the Black community’s economic needs with supporting policy. With a combination of relevant education, community conversation, and carefully cultivated tools and resources, we can move forward economically to create intergenerational wealth and legacies. I do all of this while constantly leading with my core values…

Integrity, knowledge, and community.

With my Bachelor’s in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Leadership, where I graduated Cum Laude from Amridge University, I’ve used my knowledge to empower small business owners that has garnered recognition and attention such as:

  •  CBWPA Emerging Leader Award

  • ULF Walk Your Talk Leadership Award

  • Denver Urban Spectrum’s African Americans Who Make A Difference Award

  • Denver Business Journal 40 under 40

  • Features in Westword Magazine and 9News

I know what it is to be a Black woman in Corporate America. Working alongside entrepreneurs to provide the tools to push through fears and take back control of their time, I created a road map to success. Now I am passing that along so we can create leaders and job providers within our community.

Why am I Changing The Narrative?

I have always fought for what is right. I joined the military right after 9/11, knowing that I was heading to war. I was willing to go, fight, and possibly die for my country. My worldview and the fight have both changed, but my willingness to sacrifice for the causes that mean something to me has not. I understand that freedom is not free. I also understand that for our community, the “American Dream” is merely that, a dream. Knowing that, my focus is now solely directed on using my voice and power to serve the Black community. Using my background and combining it with my passion for leadership, high performance, and productivity, I will not stop pushing until we see ourselves as leaders and improve our status and positions in this world.
